India, the birthplace of Ayurveda, stands as a beacon of traditional healing wisdom. In recent years, there has been a growing global interest in Ayurveda, prompting increased research endeavors. However, the path to unlocking Ayurveda's full potential is riddled with challenges that require strategic solutions. By fostering standardization, enhancing infrastructure, promoting collaboration, and adapting research methodologies, India can harness the potential of Ayurveda to offer holistic and effective healthcare solutions. The time is ripe for concerted efforts from government bodies, researchers, practitioners, and industry stakeholders to elevate Ayurveda to new heights and contribute to the well-being of individuals worldwide. In this editorial, we delve into the specific issues surrounding Ayurvedic research in India and propose solutions to propel this ancient science into a more prominent role in global healthcare.
